Acoustic Research expounded a huge amount of money & resources in an attempt to re establish their former reputation. Adding to the challenge the AR 9 & AR90 were far bigger than any previous product they had produced.
In the end all the effort was worth it and the AR9's received widespread critical acclaim and are hight sort after today.
This pair are in excellent condition with beautiful veneer, edges & covers. However, being 45 year old speakers we carried out a full service. Out tech had his hands full with this pair.
Crossovers checked & re capped.
Six! drivers re-foamed using quality products sourced from the USA. Lower mids & woofers done.
Five upper mid drivers checked/de dented & the best 2 selected and fitted.
Re assembled, cleaned, detailed and cabinets re oiled. Covers washed and scrubbed, the front ones 3 times!, so much nicotine! Even the grilled badges were stained and needed a deep scrub.
Now sounding and looking as good as they should.
